Reasons Why You Should Hire an Interview Coach
Why hire an Interview Coach? Well, perhaps you’ve been away from interviewing for a while and feel so out of practice with the process. That’s understandable, as there is much to learn. Maybe you have already gone through several interviews, not getting your desired outcome.
Recognizing that you’ll benefit from some coaching is a great thing and a very positive sign you will hear sooner than later “We would like to make you an offer!”
In my 13 years of recruiting, which included coaching all of my candidates for their phone, video, and in-person interviews, I have learned it is challenging for most to know how to “toot their own horn” in an interview. It is a careful balance between being humble and not acting overly confident or being too self-assured.
Over the years, I’ve had candidates tell me “I don’t need coaching…I’ve got this, they will love me.”
When I hear these words pop out, I just know they will be passed over and my client will call me telling me how unprepared they were for their interview.
My goal is to help you get properly prepared so you can avoid that uncomfortable feeling and secure your dream job.
What Happens During Interview Coaching?
Together, we will go through a detailed discovery process where I will have you start off answering several interview coaching questions in writing.
Your responses will help you learn the value and benefit you can bring to a new employer. Those responses will guide you in the discovery process of your greatest accomplishments and the impact of those accomplishments at your current place of employment.
There is a saying I use often in my coaching calls: “You don’t know what you don’t know.”
What this means is, I will be helping you get your message across to the hiring leader how you do meet the requirements of the job by articulating clearly, through examples, how what you have been doing is applicable to what they want you to be doing for them.
You will also learn how to ask the right questions that will set you up for success to truly sell yourself about how perfectly you meet the expectations of the role.
It is my job as an Interview Coach to peel back all the layers of your accomplishments and help you shape them to address all of the hiring manager’s must-have requirements.
Through our discovery process you will be confident, ready and well-prepared to answer any question!
While there is no way to guarantee you will get every job you interview for, what I can promise is you will learn so much about what not to say in an interview, along with what to say and how to say it to impress your interviewers.
The takeaways you will gain from our coaching calls will be of tremendous value to you in all future interviews!
I can also review your resume and provide beneficial feedback!
If we’re nearing the end of our two-hour session, and you’re finding it amazingly helpful yet still have additional topics to explore, I offer an extra block of time for $100.
