There is always an elephant in the room! Potential employers want to know how you deal with sticky situations. Do you procrastinate when it comes to dealing with issues head-on? How do you approach problems and what plan of action do you put in place to help resolve?
What time of day do you handle the biggest problems? Ideally, you should address the most uncomfortable situations and tasks first thing in the morning.
Employers will never consider hiring someone who runs from elephants! Elephants can get in the way of productivity. How do you motivate and communicate with your team to get the most out of them? How do you optimize all the talents of your team?
Be ready to share with the interviewer how you take a proactive approach to everything you try to accomplish. Do you make lists? How are you at follow up and follow through? Are you leading by example? Are you turning thoughts and ideas into action? How do you persuade your team to take action on moving that elephant out of the room?
Employers love to ask questions that revolve around the topic of critical thinking and problem solving skills. As your interview coach, I can help you craft articulate responses based on challenging situations you have shared with me.
